Mini Camp
Designed for first time campers (Boys and Girls Ages 7 - 9)
Mini camp is a great introduction to camping for our youngest adventurers. Mini camp allows children ages 7-9 the opportunity to experience a taste of organized summer resident camping with the positive encouragement of our watchful staff. With return rates of campers in the Mini Camp age group, nationally around 30-40%, our intention is to provide a smooth transition for the campers to have a great time and provide an extraordinary experience to spur their desire to come back the following year for a week or more.
During the 3 night/4 day program, Mini Campers will participate in many of the activities generally offered in the regular summer camp program; i.e. swimming, arts and crafts, archery, nature, etc. However, due to the length of stay and physical abilities of the campers, our program is designed to allow them to try as much of camp as they can rather than skill progression. Along with the traditional camp activities, we provide social development activities to enhance their abilities to build friendships and relate to each other in a positive environment.
We maintain a 1:3 staff to camper ratio in cabins and our activities are staffed at a minimum of 1:5 ratio staff to camper. This allows special attention to the campers and allows us to actively engage the campers to succeed during the session. Camping is a profound experience and the opportunity to assist the children in developing independence and confidence is a high priority.
